Sights you should not miss when in Australia
So you have finally decided to go on a trip to Australia. But with such a huge country that offers a variety of things to do and see it might be a little difficult to decide where to go. Here’s a list of some of the things you could do or places to go to when you are in Australia.
Visit Uluru or Ayers Rock
The sunset and sunrise at this place is a must see. It is gorgeous and breathtaking. You should also check out the nearby Aborigine center so you can find out more about the local people.
Take a dive at the Great Barrier Reef
Are you a fan of the deep waters or are you simply interested in experiencing a different kind of world? Go scuba diving then at the Great Barrier Reef. You will certainly enjoy the diverse marine life there. Who knows? You might even get to find Nemo there! But if diving isn’t your kind of thing then hop in a boat that could take you away from the shore and go snorkeling instead. I am sure you will also enjoy it just as much. Make sure though that you get a boat that has a permit to go dive sites.
Explore the largest sand island
This is no other than Fraser Island. It is appealing not just for the tourists but for the locals as well. You can actually do some camping and hiking here. Or if you want, you can just hit the beach!
Check out the Ningaloo Reef
It is not as commonly known as the Great Barrier Reef. But this is actually a good thing. Because fewer tourists visit the area, it means that the marine life is more diverse here. You can actually go swimming with the whale sharks. What is good about this reef is that you can actually swim to it. No need for boats. Why? There are some points of the reef that are close enough to the shore that you can reach it just by swimming.
Get cozy with a koala
Well, it is safe to say that you have not been to Australia if you have not come into contact with a koala bear! Koala bears are Australia’s most unique native animal. And it looks cute and cuddly too! You can visit Featherdale Wildlife Park where you can even get your picture take, of course for a certain fee.
Explore the Outback
Trip to Australia will not be complete either without a trip to the outback!
There is a huge range of activities to do here. You can visit the iconic Sydney Opera House and you can climb up the Sydney Harbor Bridge. You can also have a little fun at King’s Cross. Even though Sydney is a busy city, it still has some laid back beach vibe to it.
Chill and relax in Melbourne
There are lesser clubs in the city compared to Sydney. There are more cafes and restaurants in Melbourne though. It is actually the food capital of Sydney so expect to enjoy amazing food in the city!
Go surfing at the Gold Coast
This is also a popular thing to do in Australia. Grab your surfboards because the Gold Coast right outside Brisbane is one of the best places to learn how to surf. The Gold Coast has great waves and there are lots of lessons available. But if the Gold Coast is not your thing, then there are other places in Australia to go surfing.
Whether you are into chilling in the cities, spending the day at the beach or taking a hike in the mountains, you can find an activity in Australia that is just right for you. Explore your options so you can make the most out of your trip to Australia.
